An Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project that empowered young people through volunteering, social inclusion, intercultural learning and active citizenship.
Description
Volunteer for Social Inclusion was an Erasmus+ KA152 Youth Exchange coordinated by Malmös Akademiska Förening (MAF) in Malmö, Sweden.
The project brought together 56 young participants from seven European countries to explore how volunteering can strengthen social inclusion, active citizenship and intercultural understanding. Through non-formal education methods such as workshops, teamwork, outdoor learning, simulations and peer learning, participants developed practical skills while exchanging experiences and cultures.
Objectives
- Promote volunteering as a tool for social inclusion.
- Encourage active citizenship among young people.
- Strengthen intercultural dialogue and European values.
- Increase awareness of Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps opportunities.
- Support young people with fewer opportunities.
- Develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills.
Activities
During the youth exchange participants took part in:
- Interactive workshops
- Team-building activities
- Outdoor learning
- Intercultural evenings
- Reflection sessions
- Group discussions
- Planning local volunteer initiatives
- Dissemination and follow-up activities
Participants also designed local volunteering initiatives to implement in their own communities after returning home.
